Center of Refreshment

Etching on an 18" x 12" copper plate, with chine colle. The first print above is on yellow Sekishu paper (though the hue is difficult to make out); the second is on green Kitakata.

Good LORD man! I have minimal knowledge of the etching process as you know, but this is baffling as to how you got all those textures and cracks... It's absolutely gorgeous.

I clicked on the image, and suddenly found my nose dangerously close to the computer monitor, trying to take in every little detail. (that's a good thing) Beautiful work!

Thanks so much, Jeremy and Susan! I have to credit David Driesbach for showing me how to etch "cracks" in the plate. I'd never seen that technique in any of the books.

Holy shit. John, I am floored by this.

I am speechless (or, textless.)
