This is a piece I did for a show in Cincinnati. The idea was to re-work an LP album cover by drawing on it, painting on it, or otherwise manipulating it. I chose The Misty Miss Christy, an LP by June Christy from 1956. My image involved collage, monoprint, colored pencil, and some other media that I'm forgetting now. I hope I didn't make a visual mockery of this great album!
Lithograph. This is a double portrait of myself and Mel Torme, done in secondary colors, plus black. A guy in my printmaking class kept saying, "I can't see Mel Torme!"
The Small Press and Comics Expo will be held this weekend in Columbus, OH. More information is at www.backporchcomics.com. I'll have a table there. Though I won't be bringing any brand-new comics, ASTHMA (a collection of my work published by Sparkplug Books) may be new to many. And I will have some recent lithographs and etchings, which I've re-posted above.
